This example uses weatherboard as the exterior of the timber frame wall. As the weatherboard is beyond the cavity, it can be replaced with brick, block or other exterior elements without effecting the above calculation. The example above also uses a polythene vapour control layer. For a breathable wall, this can be replaved with a breathable vapour check, available here.
